From China comes heart shaped Blueberry Gummy candies (105 g/package)

Blueberry filled cookies - Hong Kong Isn't it amazing in this country where blueberries are relatively unknown, that the major cookie manufacturer features a blueberry biscuit.  Look how important the blueberry identification is all over the package.  It does contain a blueberry jam with real blueberry bits inside.

This "Dali Classics Foods Series" soft cake called "Blueberry.Pie"  is made by Fujian Dali Food Co., Ltd. (Fujian, China).  The product uses blueberry powder in the filling.  There is a message in English from the celebrity on the front of the package that says, "May the breeze bring you the tenderness and warmth from me.  Far from each other we may be.  Yet still you are here.  At the bottom of my heart."

Manufactured by Shenzhen Jananj Food Co., Ltd. (China) the package contains "10 pellets" of blueberry sugarfree chewing gum with the notation on the back package panel, "Helps protect teeth."

.This package contains 15 sticks of blueberry flavored gum.  The brand is called "Weekend" and the product is touted to be a low sugar chewing gum from China.

Twin Oaks brand individually packaged marshmallow treats filled with blueberry jam in the middle.  This product is manufactured by Sam's Garden Foodstuffs Co., Ltd., Guangdong, China.

From China is 3+2 blueberry flavor "cracker sandwich" with "blueberry dry concentrate" on the ingredient statement.  The package features teen group S.H.E. on the label.  The 125 g. package is produced under the Master Kong label. http://www.masterkong.com.cn/

These crispy cookie straws come in a 20 g. package.  There is a link to http://www.blueberries.com/on the label along with SFA signage indicating that the company is a member of the Snack Food Association.  Product shows blueberries everywhere on the label!

Yunnan Youth Beverage Company in Kunming, China introduces a new blueberry beverage for students!  The blueberry is actually suspended in a jelly juice like the popular bubble teas which are the rage in Asia!

Blueberry Extract. From Manna Fodds Co. Ltd 300mg x 60 cap or 1500mg x 30 small packs.

Dairy Foods (May 2004, p. 31) reports on a new yogurt from Glico Dairy (Japan) that "meets the demands of consumers seeking something that is both healthy and indulgent." This "probiotic yogurt with bifidobacterium" is made with "whole blueberries (a valuable source of antioxidative polyphenols) and five fruit juices" and it is "finished off with white rum." Packaged in 100g containers, with a "separate cup for the fruit-based sauce."

This  Lotte product is like blueberry cheesecake but in another format.  Each individual bun is filled with blueberry cheesecake filling and covered with a golden crust.  Makes for a convenient, easy to eat, out-of-hand product.

Meiji Seika Kaisha, Ltd. http://www.meiji.co.jp/has a cookie coated berry product.  In addition to Japan, the company distributes confectionery products in Singapore, China and Indonesia.  The company has production facilities in the USA (Pennsylvania and California) and sells products throughout the US.

Morinaga Drinkable Yogurt Beverage! - Japan This small refreshing beverage is a big hit with the office crowd who need an "eye energy boost!"

Morinaga Blueberry Chocolate! - Japan What a great idea!  Blueberry filling in a Japanese style smooth chocolate bar.  This is new, but sure to be a hit!

Blueberry Juice! (Japan 1998) Head down to the corner grocery for a quart of blueberry juice.  In Japan, blueberry juice is big time with several blends offered in the markets.  This item is around 20 percent blueberry juice, but some are offered with 100% juice for up to $50 US per liter!

"Hello Kitty"Blueberry Dessert!(Japan 1998) Everyone in Japan is getting on the good eyesight with blueberry craze.  This 8 oz Kitty pack is one of the best selling items in the dairy case, marketed to the Kitty generation!

Blueberry Jam Sandwich! (Japan 1998) Another great idea from Yamazaki Bakeries in Japan.  A simple slice of white bread is transformed into a snack treat with a schmeer of blueberry jam!

Blueberry Health Beverage Mini - Japan In this country, there are thousands of small individual serving health drinks.  This blueberry potion is sold in the pharmacy and is touted to help the eyesight.

Blueberry in Puff Pastry - Japan The Japanese companies know that anything with blueberry sells.  This single serving confectionery item sells in the candy and snack section of the markets.

Blueberry and Honey - Japan This product blends blueberry juice with local honey.   It is served as a table honey, but many in Japan use it as an addition to beverages and tea to take advantage of the health benefits of blueberries.  Note, this is not to be confused with "Blueberry Honey" produced in the USA, which is actually produced from the bees visiting the blueberry plants during pollination.

Blueberry Candy - Japan These hard candies from Japan contain real blueberry juice inside.   Is touted to be good for the eyes and is consumed by sports enthusiasts.

Blueberry Cookies Bourbon Company, Japan.  This cookie utilizes dried blueberries in a shortbread- style cookie.  the box touts that there are 7 blueberries in each cookie, or 15 percent of the weight of the cookie! A really great tasting cookie!!!

Blueberry computer pills From House Brand, Japan.  Each pill contains the same amount of anthocyanin as  90 grams of blueberry!  The product is recommended for those (Like me) who spend a lot of time in front of the computer screen!

Eye Candy! From Japan, we have another example of how blueberries and eyesight combination is selling products!

Blueberry Pills - Japan. It had to happen eventually, and the year 2000 is as good a time as any.  These compressed blueberry pills, sell for extraordinary prices in Japan and are taken one a day to get the 1/2 cup of anthocyanin needed for good eyesight.  Wouldn't it be a bit easier to just pop a frozen blueberry!?!

Blueberry Pizza from Meiji in Japan! It was just a matter of time -- but the al American blueberry now has found a home on top of another American-Italian favorite!   Frozen blueberries top the pizza and work very well with the savory flavors!

Blueberry Beer! At last we have a very novel product from the USA to introduce to Japan!  This blueberry berry, called "Huckleberry Wheat" was contributed by Rod Cook, who everyone in the industry knows from Olympia, Washington, Producer's Marketing.  Tom awaits a bottle, six pack or case for sampling.  But, anyway we salute this Montana company for this innovation!

Tomasello Winery does it again! Jack Tomasello has created a new dry blueberry wine for the Asian market, and it is superb.  This is the third time he has won the award.   So please keep sending the samples Jack!

Quaker Fruit and Oatmeal Cereal Bar! Made with loads of real blueberries, (Third ingredient on the list) Announces the "Real Fruit" with photos of real blueberries on the box.  Tastes terrific!

Sara Lee introduces a new frozen cake, called Red, White and Blueberry!  Just in time for July 4.  The product prominently displays real blueberries on the box.   Blueberries are one of the few native American fruit -- and it is wonderful that this company has saluted our favorite fruit!

South America
